May 2009 Newsletter

Good day to all,

I sincerely hope that the April showers we had, will bring plenty of May flowers, I had enough of the rain and I am sure that you are also “rained out” and ready to enjoy the sunshine.

If you have not been by your Club lately, you need to come by and visit; there are some improvements that I am sure that you will appreciate: we have new doors, they are beautiful and completely airtight, they will save us money during the summer months, also we have new table lamps in the dining room and the Men’s Locker Room has been spruced up considerably; we have now totally functional showers, a poker/bumper pool table, bath towels and toiletries items and there is even a phone to place orders directly to the bar or the Dining Room. Ladies please do not fret, yours is next.

We have a lot of Golf Tournaments coming during the month:

Rotary Golf Challenge                Friday, May 1
Searcy CC Crawfish                Saturday, May 2
One Man Scramble                May 16
Searcy CC Match Play Championship        May 23, 24, and 25
Searcy CC Memorial Day Couples        Monday, May 25

Please, get in touch with Bruce or Eric for all the details.

The Beverage Cart is proving to be a success, is a win-win situation; the golfers appreciate it and we are generating extra revenues for your Club. We are extending the Golfer’s Six Pack Beer Special throughout the month of May.

We have many exciting events coming in May: the Friday Night Specials will feature many of your favorites, including the Seafood Buffet on the 29th. For those of you who attended the Caribbean Concerto Wine Dinner and fell in love with the Black Beans, we’ll have them as a special on Friday the 22.

The Crawfish Boil Extraordinaire will take place on Saturday May 2nd. Make your reservations early, this is usually a sell-out

Tino will be with us three times during May, on the 1st, the 15th and the 29th. And on Thursday May 14th come sing your heart out with Jason and Van in the Bar starting at 9:00 PM

Our Wine Dinner for May will have a southern flair; all food items are from south of the Mason-Dixie Line and all wines are from Missouri and Arkansas, yes Arkansas!

Your Club keeps moving forward, we continue to make improvements, some easily seen others not as obvious but just as necessary.

Another small matter, the Pool opens on a “soft opening” on Saturday May 23 and we will have the Grand Opening Pool Party on Monday May 25th when Memorial Day is officially observed. As usual the Club will be closed on Tuesday May 26th.

Thanks to all for your continued support.

Cordially,

Miguel A. Espina
